Welcome to the Suggestion Box. The Capcom Suggestion Box is your chance to make your voice heard clearly, and to know that Capcom is listening.
If you've got an issue you would like to raise with us, create a suggestion. If other people agree, or get inspired by your suggestion, they "vote it up." The closer to the top an idea is, the more clear it becomes to us that this is important to our fans and customers.
Q: Why bother?
A: Because we're actually listening. I know you might have heard it before, but the lights really are on here, and we really are trying to listen to and act on your suggestions. Even if you don't have a great suggestion yourself, you can be a part of evaluating the suggestions of others to make sure your view is represented.
Q:Who is listening?
A:Community is important at Capcom, but your suggestions don't end with the community teamâur top overall suggestions will be reviewed at our internal meetings. That means every 2 weeks, everybody that matters here is going to get an earful about what's important to you.
Moreover, in between those periods, our developers and marketers can also stop by and see, for instance, what Resident Evil suggestions are rising to the top. The Suggestion Box gives them the info in a clear, more readable way that doesn't require them to sort through thousands of forum conversations.
Q:How does it work?
A:People submit suggestions, and then everyone votes on which ones are the best. The voting process is simple: just click the "promote" and "demote" buttons next to an idea. Promote stuff you like, demote stuff you don't like. The more people like a certain suggestion, the more the idea will rise to the top. You can only vote once on each idea, but feel free to vote for your own.
Q:Will the good suggestions really rise to the top?
A:Obviously this system is only as valuable if people use it together, so please get involved (if you choose not to be involved, you might have to stop complaining!).
Q:My suggestion made it to #1. Why haven't you done what I suggested yet?
A:Having a suggestion box doesn't mean we can (or should!) do everything you're asking. Sometimes it's too expensive, sometimes it's too crazy, and sometimes it might already be happening, but we can't talk about it yet. What the box does mean is that we hear you, and when we know what's on your mind, we can make better-informed decisions about how to make sure you're happy with our games, products, and services. We are already into the idea of "ask the fans what they want" polls, and hopefully I'll be able to update this question soon with examples of real things we've done as a direct result of the Suggestion Box soon.
Q:Can I vote on my own Suggestion?
A:Your voice counts just like everyone else's, so be sure to vote for your own ideas.
A few tips on creating an effective suggestion:
- Don't duplicate what's already there. Read some of the existing suggestions to make sure there's not another very similar suggestion already being voted on. If there is, you risk splitting the votes between them, and preventing either from rising to the top.
- Don't get super-specific. Make sure your suggestion is only as specific as you need it to be. To get widespread support, you want to cast your net as wide as you can, and although you might have a specific game in mind, your suggestion might be able to benefit other brands as well.
- Questions aren't suggestions. If you have a question, try the "Ask Capcom" section. You can find a lot of helpful answers in the FAQ, or ask something that hasnâbeen answered before. There's no mechanism to answer a question put into the Suggestion Box, so you'll be disappointed if that's what you're after.
